We are back!
I try not to post that we are leaving ahead of time in case some wacko is reading this blog.
Thanks to Grandma Sal's kindness and Uncle D's work conference we were able to escape to Kansas City, MO for four days (three nights).
We had a wonderful time but it is only the type of vacation someone with small children could appreciate since it wasn't very exciting. I slept in, took naps, read two books, worked out all four days, watched TV and ate dinner out with Uncle D each night. Uncle D enjoyed the conference but was wishing he could have come home yesterday with me (he is currently in the air as I type).
The children had a great four days with Grandma Sal. They did many fun things (played in the snow, went to McDonald's, lots of arts and crafts, etc.). CBW only called me 'Grandma Sal' three times yesterday. This morning she wondered where she had gone.
Downtown Kansas City is dead on the weekends. This meant we had to do some searching just to find an open restaurant. That part sucked and we spent quite a bit on cab fare.
For my Hallmark-loving friends (Laural that's you!), I went to the Crown Center and shopped on Sunday. It was the largest Hallmark store I had ever been in plus lots of other cool shops.
Congrats to Summer (and Reid) on their engagement.

I wish I'd remembered that you were going to KC. There's a terrific family-run, hole-in-the wall Mexican restaurant that serves margaritas out of a bucket.
Did you ride on a trolley?
