Weekend Update

Well it has been quite an eventful seven days.

Last Wednesday I traveled to Dallas, Texas for a Mother's Against Drunk Driving Victim Assistance training session. The experience was life-changing and although I came back totally wiped by the stories I heard, I feel more committed than ever to volunteer and try to make a difference.

I returned late Saturday night. Uncle D had taken the kids west to his folks. They were kind enough to babysit one night so Uncle D could get away for an RA reunion in South Dakota. He had a wonderful time connecting with his old staff. It was funny because he was there on the exact day we met 12 years ago. I wish I could have been there too. He said they were looking at photos from 1994-1996 and said we looked 'so young!' I'm not sure what that says about how we look now.

So hard to believe the kids are back to daycare in less than a month. Work is nuts and I'm paying the price for being gone three days last week.

Tonight we may try out a new drive-in restaurant in a nearby town.
