Christmas Whirlwind
We did a lot of driving, visiting, celebrating, opening gifts and eating in four short days! We had one black eye (CAW!), one broken present from Santa (before 5 p.m.), many inches of snow, and many hours on the road.
On Saturday we headed into the Cities for haircuts. We then spent the evening with my Mom's side of the family celebrating a Turkish Christmas. We were all surprised about much we enjoyed the food. The kids had a blast. To keep things interesting CAW spiked a temp twice that evening.
We then drove to see Darrin's Grandma and Aunt. They gave us a bag of goodies that we are all still enjoying.
We then headed to Darrin's brother's home to celebrate with his family. The kids had a great time. They played Star Wars for hours (as seen above).
The next day we headed home to unpack and regroup before Christmas. The roads were not the best for most of our travels so we were relieved to pull in the driveway that afternoon.
Yesterday we celebrated with my family. CBW loved every minute of Christmas. Her highlight was getting a Kirsten American Girl doll from Santa. She has not left her side since.
CAW got a guitar and has enjoyed it too (although it already cracked).
Fun times for all! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us and opening up your homes. Due to bad weather Auntie stayed with us last night. The kids loved that. She also brought us goodies from Hawaii.
