Back to the 4th!
We had such a fun family weekend. On Friday we spent the day at our local festival. CAW even braved the sinking ship (CBW's favorite). It was a beautiful day and our old neighbors even came to celebrate with us.
On Saturday we left for two nights at Telemark. My folks treated us to a weekend up in Cable, WI. We used to vacation there every summer (1977-84) with my Mom's entire family so we have great memories. The place has not changed much since the 70's (it is very run-down) but we had a blast with all of the memories and hanging with my Grandma.
Some highlights:
- At least four hours of swimming (favorite for CBW and CAW)-After working with CBW I'm more confident she will finally learn to swim this summer.
- Visiting an old-time favorite Hayward candy store
- Eating at the original Famous Dave's and then seeing Famous Dave himself
- Grandma, Mom, Shelly, and Uncle D played 18 holes of golf
- Shelly and I had a Venus/Serena rematch and I'm sorry to say Venus lost (1 game to 6).
- Mini golf
- Making smores
- Watching our family videos from past summers at Telemark
- Hiking Mt. Telemark (we have the mosquito bites to show for it).
