Big weekend.....

I'm tired just writing about it.

On Thursday we tried to do swimming lessons but they were cancelled due to lightening. Instead we headed to Uncle D's work to check out his new office (even though the details are still not done and he was supposed to start today!).

On Friday Uncle D and I split the day at home since Katie was leaving for vacation. This meant Barbies and Playdough (CBW took these photos and was very proud of herself) while CAW slept.

On Friday night we met my pal Andrea and her kids in Hudson for a night of playing at their awesome community park and dinner at Burger King. We dreamed of the days we could sit on the bench and talk while just watching the children. Having two boys who are two make that not possible quite yet. The girls played so well (although CBW was surprisingly sassy to her Mom) that they decided at the end of the night they would like to be sisters. The boys did well too especially when they stayed out of their sister's way.

On Saturday we headed north for a family reunion of sorts. My Grandma has not had the entire family together since our wedding/my Grandpa's funeral nine years ago. It was such an exciting day for her. One cousin was not able to make it, but otherwise we were all there. Some of the families had not met CAW yet so that was fun. My aunt and uncle live on a lake so you will notice my wet clothes as I went in the lake to get CAW. He loved the water and even stripped down at one point and made it a nude beach (which was a huge hit with the family). CBW was wild and wound up and attached to Ellie. Ellie is an awesome 'big sister' and gives CBW lots and lots of attention.

t was also nice to see Todd's family. We had not seen them since Erik's passing two years ago. They seem to be doing as well as can be expected.
I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful family, even though they live throughout the U.S. they are good people, doing amazing things. They have always taken an interest in me and my family and it was great to all be together.
Now I need a vacation for my weekend=) Today's I'm leaving at noon to see CBW's final gymnastics class. Can't wait!
