Weekend Fun!

I stayed home Friday with the kids (my 4th and final vacation day of the summer). Teresa, Steve, Olivia, and Owen came for the night. Katie babysat so we could all go out to eat and celebrate Uncle D's big news! The kids did so well. We hardly saw the girls and the boys were a joy (minus a few difficulties sharing the tractor). Everyone slept through the night. Olivia slept on CBW's trundle bed (a big treat in her eyes). We got a taste of what life will be like when we can just roll out sleeping bags (for the boys and girls). How fun! We actually got to visit a bit. We had planned on the water park on Saturday but cancelled due to the cloudy skies and cool temps.

On Saturday night Uncle D headed to River Falls to watch a Vikings scrimmage. He said it is going to be a 'long season.' That is fine with me since there won't be much time for football watching this fall.

On Sunday I took CAW and CBW to a birthday party (Maura turned two!) For once having CAW with was much easier than CBW. He ran right in, hit the pinata, played guitar, ate what was offered, and was genuinely excited! We had to drag his sister into the house (she was feeling shy!) and it took her at least an hour to warm up. CAW is very much like me in that he always wants to 'go' and doesn't like to be left at home. CBW would always be happy staying home almost all the time.
